Among The Trees

I’ve gotten pretty good at this whole exploring the woods alone and collecting my own food thing.

Holiday weekends at a Forest Service campground mean working 12 hour shifts while everyone else is on vacation. The hours aren’t great but you can’t beat the view.

This is my new life for the next 6 weeks:

• Sharing a room with 7 other girls.
• Living in a facility where the Smithsonian breeds exotic animals like the clouded leopard.
• A communal pet turtle named Scootie.
